Life’s Continuous Journey

Published: December 22, 2016

Did you know that in Madagascar, deceased relatives are unburied, given a change of clothes, walked around their village, and danced with by their surviving loved ones? Or how about in Ghana where people commission coffins shaped like planes for pilots, fish for fishermen and a Mercedes for a businessman! Closer to home we have the New Orleans Jazz Funeral with its lively, jazz-infused funeral processions led by a big horn band. They start with somber tunes at first, but once the body is buried, the band plays upbeat jazz and blues numbers accompanied by dancing. Whatever your style of celebration, at JP Holley we are committed to providing meaningful and personal ways for families to grieve their loss and celebrate the memories of their loved one. Welcome to “Life’s Continuous Journey”, a blog that offers resources to help make your experience easier, answer questions you might have, provide ideas to help personalize your service, and to remind you that we are here to help. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call us. Or leave a comment about a topic you would like for us to further discuss in the future. At JP Holley we are large enough to service your family, and small enough to care.
