Celebrating 100 Years of Service!

Holley & Son’s Funeral Home was founded 1917 by Katherine Weston and William Scott Holley. There first Funeral Home location was located in Gadsden SC. The founders created a Burial Aid Society and Monument Service. Which allowed them the opportunity to help their community by providing funeral services and monuments to families that may not have always had the monetary means. The second location opened in Columbia, at 2469 Senate St. This Location was opened in the 1930’s. 

There two sons; William Holley and John P Holley Sr. continued the business and 2nd Generation. After the passing of the founder William S. Holley the family decide to close the Gadsden Location.

In 1946 John P Holley Sr. 2 Generation; Opened the third funeral home location located at 102 Church St, St Matthews SC

In 1955 John P Holley Sr. 2nd Generation; Changed the name from Holley & Son’s Funeral Home to JP Holley Funeral Home.

In 1992 John P Holley Jr. 3rd Generation; Opened our 8132 Garners Ferry location, which is now out parent location.

In 2002 Johnathan P Holley our 4th Generation; began his journey as manager assistant and student in Mortuary Science.

In 2006 we closed our Senate St Columbia Office due to an unfortunate arson. 

In 2012 Johnathan P Holley acquired the Gates of Heaven Cemetery, to offer Burial Plots to Families in need.

In 2017 Johnathan P Holley Opened the JP Holley Crematory as a Centennial Contribution to the business. 

In 2018 Johnathan P Holley Opened our now third funeral home Location located at 114 E Church St Bishopville SC

In 2021 Johnathan P Holley Opened our latest fourth funeral home Location located at 9010 Farrow Rd Columbia SC
