Luke Leslie Luesing, Sr. left this life behind to join his heavenly Lord on April 28th, 2026, while in the peace of his home. Luke was born in Fort Worth, Texas on October 30, 1961 to Norman Leslie Luesing and Betty Lee Therrell.
Luke is survived by his wife, Georgia Luesing; two sons, Luke Leslie Luesing, Jr. and Landon Colin Luesing (Crystal); a stepdaughter, Heather Oneill (Shaun); his loving sister, Bonita Rabon; his "little" brother, Carl Ellis (Tina), who was his closest and lifelong companion; his youngest sister, Carol Ellis Robertson; and numerous other loved ones who will miss him dearly.
Luke spent the majority of his adult life working in the printing industry, where he built close friendships. He was known for his expertise and for finding a way to connect to those around him. This latter skill later served him well in his ministry. Luke found his way to Christ and was ordained as a minister to His work in 2012. Luke was able to use his hard life experiences, his personality, and his ability to meet people where they were to bring many people to Christ's salvation within the church, in the hospital where he performed duties as a chaplain, and elsewhere out in the world.
Luke was always an outdoorsman and avid lover of animals, and later in his life he retreated more into solitude and the nature that he favored. Throughout his life, he was endeared by horses - taking care of them and riding whenever he could. He loved and took care of multiple dogs, though none were ever more cherished than his beloved Rottweiler, Bandit. In his last years, none were more loved by, or more loving to, him than his cat, Ruth.
Luke's wishes were for his remains to ultimately be cremated and interred next to his mother in the Collier Family Cemetery in Santee, SC. His ashes will be returned to the earth on a date that will be later scheduled. If you wish to leave something or donate in Luke's memory, please donate to local, no-kill animal shelters and/or Christian missionary organizations, such as Convoy of Hope or Samaritan's Purse.
