Steven John Burchfield

Steven John Burchfield, 53, of Columbia, South Carolina, Passed away on May 5, 2023. Born in Minot, North Dakota, he was the son of the late Ray and Nancy Burchfield.

Steven delivered the State Newspaper with his Co Pilot Melinda, and before that, he was a Support Manager with Walmart.

Steven had a good, kind, generous heart. He was a loving, devoted partner, a good friend, and he loved his children fiercely.

He is survived by his mate, Melinda Pope; daughters Brittany Burchfield and Hannah Russo; brother Gary Burchfield(Tammye); sisters Cheryle Merlette (Tony) and Stella Manges (Brian); and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his son Quinn Burchfield: Sister Debbie Sightler; and our fur babies Hamilton and Sweet Pea.

Steve never met a stranger and if you knew him and saw him out somewhere, he would always say hello. Chances are he Was out walking Hamilton or Sweet Pea. Steve had a soft spot for all animals, children, and the elderly. He had a quick sense of humor and loved to laugh. Steve enjoyed being outdoors, especially the beach and any chance to light the grill was an opportunity to turn up the radio and enjoy the sunshine.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ronald McDonald House would honor Steve's memory.
