MaryAnn T. Beverly, 69, passed away on December 25th, 2021, in Columbia, SC. She died due to complications of congestive heart failure.
She was born on September 24th, 1952, and grew up in Hubbard, Ohio the daughter of Joseph and Teresa Tokash. She attended East Tennessee State University where she met her husband, Mark.
She was a high school teacher, a published author, a political volunteer, and a strong advocate for leaving the world in a better place than she found it.
She was a loving daughter, caring sister, devoted wife, nurturing mother, and doting grandmother. She leaves behind her husband of 43 years, Mark Beverly. Her two sons, Isaac and David Beverly. Her grandchildren are Zachary, Lucinda, Joseph, and Zoey. And her brother, Tom Tokash.
When her sons were growing up, her home doubled as the neighborhood kitchen and many ravenous teenagers devoured large portions of spaghetti and meatballs every Thursday night. She was the neighborhood therapist who listened to all manner of ills and troubles, and she helped many people through very difficult times in their lives.
She had deep-rooted relationships with people living all around the world that lasted decades. She volunteered her time to protect and nurture stray animals, and fostered dozens of animals while finding new, loving homes for them.
A fierce friend to all that came across her path, there were few living creatures or plants on earth that she did not fight to protect and love. In short, she was the kindest most loving person I have ever known.
Her favorite message:
"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." - Plato
