Kenneth “Kenny” W Taylor

Obituary: Kenneth "Kenny" Walter Taylor transitioned this earthly life, Saturday afternoon, June 23, 2018. A leap year baby, born in Columbia, South Carolina, February 29, 1948, he was the second son of the late Robert Lee Taylor Sr. and the late Mary "Mae" Ethel Clarkson Taylor. Kenny was a 1965 graduate of C.A. Johnson High School where he played the trumpet in the band. He matriculated at Benedict College receiving his Bachelor of Arts in 1969. "Hank" as he was affectionately nicknamed by his late Uncle Sam Taylor, retired as a co-owner of Taylor Brothers Construction Co., Inc. He was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church, Columbia. Kenny will lovingly be remembered by his family and friends as a hard-worker, a champion equipment operator, as well as, an aficionado of clothes and cars, and a man with an infectious smile. Services: Graveside services for Kenneth "Kenny" Walter Taylor, who died, Saturday, June 23, 2018, will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in the Palmetto Cemetery, 5050 Fairfield Road, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the JP Holley Funeral Home, Garners Ferry Road Chapel.
