Jacob Marion Obituary
Jacob was a unique soul. He was kind, sweet and had a wonderful sense of humor. There was a childlike innocence about him, he trusted easily. Jacob never meet a stranger, he basically thought that everyone was good. He was at his best outdoors, nature was his home. Jacob spent most of his time with family. He enjoyed tying flies, fishing, cooking, playing pool, and listening to many forms of music and dancing.
He was a talented artist. He was a good father, brother, and son. He loved his black lab “Jazz”. Jacob spent much of his adolescent and adult life suffering from an unrelenting and cruel metal illness. He still managed to shine when so much of his world was dark and frightening. Jacob also had a deep connection with people who were less fortunate than him and often times themselves mentally challenged. He brightened our lives and anyone who was around him.
Our hearts go out to all persons and families who suffer daily with mental illness and the heart break that comes with it.
We are sincerely grateful to the entire dedicated team of Orangeburg Public Safety, especially Detective Free for his ongoing support and compassion. Thank you for bringing him back home to us.
Jacob, please know that you are loved and how deeply we miss you. Rest your mind and body. Smile and embrace the calmness. Be at peace.
On behalf of the family, please direct any monetary contributions and donations to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
Sincerely, your family with love.
