Obituary

On February 11, 2021 Rev. Harold B. Chavis was escorted into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Rev. Chavis was born in Columbia, S.C April 14, 1954 to the late Rev. Hobson H. Chavis and Lenora Jeffcoat Chavis. 
Born into a Christian family, Rev. Chavis was in the ministry for over 25 years and was Pastor of multiple churches in S.C., with his most recent being Westside Holiness Church in West Columbia, S.C. Rev. Chavis was a powerful preacher who always had an encouraging word from the Lord. He also worked for David Chase Construction. 
Rev. Chavis is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joanna, his daughter Haley, son Joshua, nephew Dustin Chavis, Aunts Joyce Jeffcoat, Mary Ruth Jeffcoat, Linda Jeffcoat and Brenda Hill (Jerry), numerous cousins and his loyal companion: his dog Mia. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joan, brothers Dwight and Bobby and sister-in-law Charlotte "Eloise" Chavis. 
Due to Covid-19 a memorial service will be planned later in the year.
