Willie E. Dickerson

Mr. Willie E. Dickerson, age 67 of Olar, SC peacefully transitioned from labor to reward on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC.  He was born March 10, 1955 to the late Simmie and Agnes Dickerson.

Willie aka “Chop” enjoyed basketball, football, fishing, and a good card game.  He was good with repairing electronic devices and general car repair. He served in the US Army from 1974 – 1977 where he received an honorable discharge.  He was employed at Rockland Industries Inc in Bamberg, SC.  He attended Denmark Technical College, in Denmark, SC. He was raised in a Christian home where he saw a pattern of Godly living on a daily basis.  As he experienced life, he became a student of the Bible and could quote and defend what he believed.  He was a private man and made every effort to lead a quiet and peaceable life. He was married to the former Stephanie L. Harris.

He is preceded in death by 3 brothers: James A O’berry, George L Dickerson and Floyd Spellman.

He is survived by one son, Willie Dickerson, Jr., Columbia, SC; four brothers: Simmie (Willie Mae) Dickerson II, York, PA; Henry L. Dickerson, Olar, SC; Sam W. (Arrie) Dickerson, Columbia, SC and Norman L. Dickerson, Charleston, SC; four sisters: Mary A. Dickerson, Bamberg, SC; Minnie P. Scott, Columbia, SC; Veronica (OrJerry) Thomas, Columbia, SC; Cora M. Dickerson, Charlotte, NC; 2 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
