Obituary: Mrs. Wilhelmina Washington Anderson was born in Columbia, South Carolina on April 28, 1951, to the late Robert and Elise Harris Washington. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at The Brian Center. She attended the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina, graduating from Hopkins High School. At an early age she was baptized at New Light Beulah Baptist Church and after marriage, she became a member of Saint Mark Baptist Church. She was previously employed at Hopkins Middle School and Allied Chemical where she worked many years. Wilhelmina was preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, George K. Harris and Curtis Washington; five sisters, Rose Lee Washington, Genevia Washington, Julia Mae Williams, Elise Washington, and Marie W. Brown. Mrs. Wilhelmina Washington Anderson leaves to cherish her previous memory: her husband, David Anderson; three sons, David (Charlene) Anderson, of Charleston, SC, Melvin Anderson, of Gadsden, SC, and Carlos (Latesha) Anderson, of Lexington, SC; one sister, Ophine McMillian, of Hopkins, SC; and three brothers, Ernest (Hattie) Washington, John (Gladys) Washington, both of Hopkins, SC, and Larry Washington, of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren of which she loved dearly, Carlos Anderson, of Lexington, SC and Ciera Anderson, of Charleston, SC; one aunt, Susie Mae Harris, of Hopkins, SC; a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and many devoted friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. Services: Funeral services for Mrs. Wilhelmina Washington Anderson will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Saint Mark Baptist Church, Gadsden, SC with burial in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday beginning at 3:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the JP Holley Funeral Home, Garners Ferry Road Chapel.
