Virginia J. James

Obituary: Mrs. Virginia Johnson James, widower of Willie James departed this earthly life on Friday, February 3, 2017. The daughter of the late Eugene and Gladys Ludd Johnson, she was born on March 28, 1933 in Sumter South Carolina. She was raised in a Christian home and attended the public schools of Sumter County. Cherish and precious memories will be missed by her daughter Loretta Maia (Abbas Abdul Hakeem) Woodson; three grandchildren Ahmad Malik, Nkechi and Chanel Woodson, niece and care giver Fannie (Robert) Booker, four sisters Sarah Sharper Rheames, Wilhelmina (John) Rose, Lessie Dumas and Gardenia Willis, sister in law Maggie Johnson, two aunts Carrie and Lillie Johnson and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Ernest Johnson, three brothers, Eugene Johnson, Jr., Robert Johnson (Hattie Mae) and Thomas Johnson, brother in law George Dumas. Services: Services for Virginia J. James will be held 12 pm, Saturday, February 11, 2017 at New Bethel MB Church, Sumter. Public viewing on Friday, February 10th from 5:30-6:30 PM , Greater Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church on Miller Rd.
