Timothy C. Chavis

Timothy C. Chavis peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was born on Monday, March 11, 1957, to the late Willie Jack Chavis and Sarah Smith Chavis in North Carolina.

Timothy received his education through the public school system in North Carolina. He was employed as a painter and worked at the Department of Mental Health. He went on to open his own painting business.  In his free time, Timothy enjoyed playing cards, working in the yard, shooting pool, visiting beaches, and spending cherished moments with his loved ones.

Timothy was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Timothy Chavis Jr., and his siblings Nellie Faye (Elgin) Leviner, Carlene Bonds, George Willie Chavis, Eliashia Chavis, Edgar Wayne Chavis.

Timothy will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his beloved wife, Sharon Chavis; his children, Howard Edward Lee, Stacey Howard, and Misty Chavis; his siblings, Larry Walker Chavis, Carolyn Joan Bowen, and Norma Chavis; fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.

A service in memory of Timothy C. Chavis will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Capital City Church located at 4600 Monticello Rd Columbia, South Carolina 29203. Please join the family and friends as they come together to honor and celebrate Timothy’s life. All floral tributes can be sent to 1525 Leaside Drive Lot 3 Columbia, South Carolina 29223.

Timothy will forever be remembered for his kind heart and joyful spirit.
