Obituary: Terry James Gibson, affectionately known as "Terry," "TJ," and Uncle T, was the sixth child, born to the union of Richard and Martha Gibson on March 6, 1955 in Eastover, SC. He departed his earthly home on Tuesday, December 26, 2017. He joined Daughter of Zion Baptist Church at an early age and after moving to Columbia, South Carolina he moved his membership to Pine Grove Baptist Church.. He also worshiped at Ebenezer Baptist. Terry graduated from Lower Richland High School and later attended Ken Shuler School of Hair Design. While employed at Belk Department Store as a Window Designer, he began his career as a hairstylist in Columbia at Trafalgar Square. Terry was invited to work with the team of the Tosh & Tom Salon where he worked for many years honing his skills. From there, he ventured into a career of entrepreneurship opening his own salon, "The Bronze Hairstyle Forum." He worked tirelessly for 30+ years styling hair for numerous celebrities. He touched thousands of heads and hearts during his career and was loved by many. He will be terribly missed. He was preceded in death by: his parents; and two brothers, Wayne and Charles Gibson. He leaves to cherish his memory: three brothers, Richard Jr. (Vernie) Gibson, of Columbia, SC, LeRoy (Cara) Gibson, of Brooklyn, NY, and Michael (Christine) Gibson, of Hopkins, SC; one sister, Maggie Gibson-Bostic, of Eastover, SC.; a host of nieces and nephews.
