Teresa Lynn Owens

Teresa Lynn (Greer) Owens (also known as Momma T, Mom/Momma, or Nana) was born February 17th, 1961. She passed away peacefully on April 6th, 2024 at the age of 63, in her home in Columbia, South Carolina from health complications. She is preceded in death by her mother: Sharon Kay Greer, her father: Charles Preston Greer, her husband: Larry Earl Owens, her twin grandsons: Thomas Preston Owens and Charles Hayward Owens and her sister: Pamela Mae (Greer) Wooten. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law; Charlene Kay (Greer) Grigsby and Jimmy Grigsby. Her 3 children; Jenny Sherilyn (Owens) Porter, Terry Lee Owens and Randy Charles Owens. Her step-son, Larry Owens II and her other step-son, Avery Owens. Her 5 grandchildren; Larry Owens III and his wife, Beth Owens, Rebecca Melton, Ryen Melton, Gregory Owens and Claudia Owens. Her nieces and nephews; TJ Wooten, Lyle Wooten, Lori (Grigsby) Hagar, and Jenna Grigsby. Teresa was a loving and caring mother, nana, sister, aunt, friend, and neighbor. She was known for her kindness, big heart, and her extraordinary, unwavering faith in God that would brighten anyone’s day she came across. She spent many of her summers being a camp counselor at a summer camp sponsored by the South Carolina Commission for the Blind. She also volunteered teaching art classes through the South Carolina Commission for the Blind. She loved to crochet, paint, and bake; with and for those she loved. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, neighbors and all who knew her.
