Susan Louise Harris-Hoyt

Susan Louise Harris-Hoyt (81) passed away peacefully on Tuesday 2/22/2022 at home in West Columbia S.C. surrounded by her loving children. She was born in Glen Ellyn IL. on March 7, 1940 & graduated with the class of 1958 from Glenbard West High School. She is survived by the 3-D’s ; Dawn Louise Bruce (Lenny Sherwood) of Pomaria ; Granddaughters Kari Waites & Taylor Mina, Great grandson’s Dyllon & Hunter Colegrove & Great granddaughter Kaydence Mina, Dena Jane Allen (James) of Orlando Fl. & David Grant Hoyt (Stacy) of West Columbia ; Grandson Jeffrey Hoyt, Granddaughter’s Reanna & Sofia Raines, & Great grandson Leo Raines. Her kids were her life & we proudly carry on the legacy of her love. She is predeceased by the love of her life Dale Grant Hoyt; her brother, David Edmonson; her mother, Dorothy Belle Harris Edmonson; & her father Kenneth Charles Edmonson. Susan moved to S.C. in 1976 & retired from the USC Department of Student Housing in 2005. She enjoyed working with the students & was like a second mom to those who came to know her. A Memorial Service will be held on April 2nd, 2022 @ Leeza's Care Connection 201 St. Andrews Rd. Columbia, SC. 29210 from 12-3. Susan will be taken home to Glen Ellyn, IL. later in the year as she wished. ~In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Leeza’s Care Connection~
