He grew up in Alliance, Ohio, where he developed a strong work ethic and a lifelong love for cars and mechanics.
Steve was a talented mechanic and proudly owned and operated his own automotive shop for 25 years. Known as one of the best transmission specialists in the Southeast, his dedication, craftsmanship, and hard work earned him the respect and trust of many. Steve enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and spending time outdoors. He loved racing, cheering on Clemson and the Cleveland Browns, relaxing by the fire, and watching Dale Earnhardt tear up the track. He found peace in caring for his fish tanks and spending time with his cats. He especially loved traveling, fishing, and hiking with his wife, Phyllis.
He was kind-hearted, always ready with a good laugh or a playful prank, and he cherished time with close friends and family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Phyllis Jackson; his daughter, Regina “Gina” Lockwood (husband David); and his son, Steven “Junior” Jackson Jr. (wife Tia).
