Mr. Samuel Christopher Rivers, of Columbia, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on the 24th day of April, 2026.
Samuel “Sam” C. Rivers was born on April 18, 1943, in Charleston, West Virginia, to the late Samuel C. Rivers and the late Julia I. Seay. He peacefully transitioned from this earthly life on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the age of 83.
Sam received his education through the public school system in West Virginia. Upon graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country for four years before receiving an honorable discharge.
Sam was widely known for his mechanical skills and his ability to work on vehicles. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing cards at the VFW, where he was a dedicated and cherished member of the pinochle group.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel C. Rivers and Julia I. Seay; his beloved son, Samuel Christopher Rivers; and his grandson, Brandon Brown.
Sam leaves to cherish his memory five daughters: Carmen Rivers of Ohio; Tara Lancaster-Wade (Duane) of Washington, D.C.; Keisha Rivers of Charlotte, North Carolina; Samadaselena Rivers-Williams of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Samantha Johnson of Columbia, South Carolina. He also leaves three sons: Corey Lancaster (Sarah) of Florida; Brindon Aice of Columbia, South Carolina; and Shayne Johnson of Winnsboro, South Carolina.
He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, his devoted partner, Rosalyn Aice, and a host of loving relatives and dear friends.
