Sammie L. Mcknight

Obituary: Mr. Sammie Lee McKnight was born April 6, 1954, in Sumter County, South Carolina to Sarah McKnight and was reared by James and Victoria McKnight. He departed this life on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at his home is Sumter, South Carolina. He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County, South Carolina. In his early adult life he moved to New York, after several years he returned back home to Sumter, South Carolina. He enjoyed his family and friends, but his most enjoyable moments were watching Lebron James play basketball. If you wanted a simple smile, all you had to do was mention Lebron James. Sammie Lee received the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and would constantly say, "The Lord is going to bless me." He was preceded in death by: three uncles, John McKnight, Joe McKnight, and Sam McKnight; and one aunt, Helen McKnight Brooks. Mr. Sammie Lee McKnight leaves to cherish his precious memory: his mother, Sarah McKnight Wright; six sisters, Rosa (Edward) Chatman, Daisy (Sam) Bradley, Debra Coplin, Betty (Silas) Washington, Inez (Steve) Gardener, and Doris McCray; four brothers, Tony (Yvette) McKnight, Michael (Debra) Wright, Sam McCray, and Jamir McCray; four aunts, Viola McKnight, Carrie Bell McKnight, Louise McKnight, and Lula McKnight; one uncle, Roy (Ethel) McKnight; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. Services: Funeral services for Sammie L. McKnight will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Church of God By Faith, Sumter, SC with burial to follow in the Bradford Cemetery.
