Obituary: A Time To Be Born... Roosevelt Shazaar Robinson, III, affectionately known to family and friends as Man, Maine Man, Roose, and Big Roose was born October 10, 1979 in Columbia, South Carolina at Moncrief Army Hospital (Fort Jackson). He was the son of Roosevelt, Jr. and Lois Robinson. A Time To Grow.... Roosevelt attended school in Garlstedt, Germany, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and public schools in Hopkins, South Carolina. Roosevelt graduated from Lower Richland High School in 1977. He received his Radiology Certification while in Florida. Since 2010, he resided in Orlando, Florida, where he was employed Calico Fabric for several years, later he became employed with the City of Altamonte Springs, Florida, until he was called home to be with the Lord. A Time To Serve... Roosevelt was baptized at New Light Beulah Baptist Church, Hopkins, South Carolina and Zion Damascus Baptist Church #2. He loved to cook, make music, and he was a die hard England Patriot's fan. He was a kind, lovable man, who was always respectable and well-mannered. Roosevelt was always in good spirits, laughing, and ready to tell a joke. He was a great father, son, brother, and friend to all who knew him. A Time To Live... He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his companion, Tiffany Smith; three children, Riaunna, Shazari, and Z'aira Robinson; his parents, Roosevelt, Jr. and Lois (Montgomery) Robinson; sister, Zuleika Robinson; brother, Okoye Robinson; paternal grandfather, Roosevelt Robinson, Sr.; maternal grandmother, Lillie Ann Montgomery; five aunts, Sonia Garrick, Andrea Montgomery, Rosa L. Nowell, Dorothy Wright, and Jacqueline (Reginald) Allen; three special children, Amani, Joshua, and Jaleal; two uncles, Eddie Montgomery, Jr. and Ray Robinson; one nephew, Ophir Hill; one niece, Amai Hill; a host of other loving cousins, friends, and all who loved him and will miss him dearly, Services: Funeral services for Roosevelt S. Robinson, III will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Ladson Chapel, Hopkins, SC, with burial to follow in the Zion Damascus #2 Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the JP Holley Funeral Home Columbia Chapel.
