Remembering Ronley Frizel Williams September 17, 1949 – May 5, 2025

Born on September 17, 1949, in Richmond, Virginia, to Clarence Edward Williams, Sr. (“Daddy Ed”) and Gladys Morgan Williams, Ronley Frizel Williams was the second of five sons. He and his brothers spent much of their formative years in Newark, New Jersey, where he established himself as both a protector and leader among his siblings. His mother lovingly called him her “Little Man,” recognizing his unwavering commitment to looking after his younger brothers. The entire neighborhood knew that when they needed him, Ronley would always be there, sometimes all it took was his presence and

a knowing glance to keep trouble at bay. Ronley pursued his education within the public-school system, graduating from Barringer High School in Newark before furthering his studies at Seton Hall and Rutgers University. His academic journey was complemented by a strong spiritual foundation—first at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he and his family worshipped, and later as a devoted Episcopalian. At St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Dunwoody, he and his wife, Pam, actively participated in various ministries. Ronley’s absolute favorite volunteer activity was supporting Malachi’s Storehouse, weekly and during the holiday rush. They were steadfast members of the 8:00 service, always supporting their granddaughter and other family members in youth programs. Ronley’s greatest joy was his family. His journey as a father began with the birth of his eldest son, Torrey Lynn Williams, in New Jersey, who would go on to be a standout football and baseball athlete in metro Atlanta. When he met Pamela Pearson Williams in her home state of South Carolina, their marriage in 1994 felt like destiny that continued for the last 31 years! Their family expanded with their daughter, Tiffany Williams Ellison, and in 1996, they welcomed their youngest daughter, Kymberley Elaine Williams. A passionate mentor and advocate for young athletes, Ronley was affectionately known as the “Basketball Godfather.” He played a pivotal role in youth travel basketball programs, supporting his daughters, nieces, nephews, and many others throughout the metro Atlanta area. Professionally, Ronley dedicated over four decades to Anheuser-Busch, where he held multiple roles throughout his illustrious career. His most memorable position, as a Marketing Executive, allowed him to forge connections with key influencers, entertain at premier sporting events and concerts, and play a significant role in unforgettable occasions, including the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. Beyond his professional achievements, Ronley’s warmth, infectious laughter, and storytelling made him a cherished friend and colleague. His genuine spirit, unconditional support, and ability to

create lasting relationships were hallmarks of who he was—a man whose presence was felt and whose legacy will endure. A staunch University of Michigan fan, Ronley was known for his Big Blue loyalty to the Wolverines. He and his wife, Pam, shared a deep passion for sports and wholeheartedly supported their children’s athletic endeavors and professional journeys. Their encouragement and dedication were a cornerstone of their family's success, ensuring that every game, every achievement, and every milestone was met with love and pride. Ronley’s life was one of love, leadership, and connection. His impact on his family, friends, colleagues, and community will continue to be felt and honored in the countless lives he touched. On May 5, 2025, in Duluth, Georgia, Ronley was called to his role as Guardian Angel, leaving behind a beloved family that will forever cherish his presence: his devoted wife, Pam; son, Torrey Lynn Williams; daughters, Tiffany Williams Ellison and Kymberley Elaine; granddaughter, Olivia Unita Ellison; brothers, Clarence Edward Jr. and Lamont (late Juanita) Williams; along with a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. He now reunites with his parents and younger brothers, Keith (Danay) and Darrell (Roberta), in eternal peace. Ronley's legacy is woven into the lives of all he touched—his strength, wisdom, and unwavering generosity shaped countless hearts and futures. Though he has taken his place among the angels, his spirit remains ever-present, guiding and uplifting those who were fortunate enough to know him. His life was a testament to love, leadership, and service, and the impact of his journey will continue to inspire generations to come.
