Ricky Jasper Houser, a son, brother, and great friend, was born May 7, 1962, to the late Roosevelt Houser and Annie Mae Bookhart. Preceding in him death is his baby brother Bernard (Bobby) Houser and both grandparents on mother and father side. Ricky or Slick Rick as most people called him graduated from Elloree High School in1980. He later moved to Florida where he spent time working for both of his uncle’s lawn services. After his stay in Florida, he moved back to Elloree SC where he worked at Elloree Veneer Plant for several years. Ricky later moved to Columbia SC where he loved going fishing. He started working at Columbia Farms (House of Raeford) where he was employed for 21yrs, until his illness didn’t allow him to work anymore. Ricky entered eternal rest on May 30, 2024, at his home surrounded by his sisters and nephews. He leaves to cherish his memories: Sisters: Shirley “Peaches” Houser, Sharon Fogle and Gail Houser-Elmore all of Columbia SC. Nieces: Isha Haynes and Ashley Hamilton of Columbia SC and Jaleesa Haynes and Niya Scott of Cameron SC. Nephews: Dashawn Williams, Joshua Bracy, Jamier Williams, Sam Fogle and DaQuan Fogle all of Columbia SC, Omarion Scott, and Thomas Scott of Santee SC. Uncles: Nathaniel Moton of Pompano Beach Fl, Bert (Shirley) Moton of NY. Aunts: Grace Bradley of Philadelphia, PA, Gloria Mitchell, Jestine (Author)Mack and Carloyn (John)Myers all of Moncks Corner SC, Janette Moton of GA and a host of other close cousin and friends.
