Randall Washington

November 4, 1954 — October 24, 2025

Randall D. Washington, affectionately known as “Randy,” passed away peacefully on October 24th, 2025 in Columbia, South Carolina, at the age of 71. He was born on April 11th, 1954 in Fremont, Ohio to the late Moffett and Nancy Washington. At the time of his passing, Randy was residing with his daughter, surrounded by love, family, and comfort.

Randy was a proud hard-working man, spending many years serving the Dayton Public Schools system before hitting the open road as an OTR truck driver. He took great pride in his work and embraced the independence and adventure that came with life behind the wheel.

He enjoyed the simple joys life had to offer, including scratch-off lottery tickets, bowling, woodworking, and pulling lighthearted practical jokes on those he loved. Randy could always make people laugh and never missed an opportunity to brighten someone’s day. Whenever he was heading out for a good time, he would say with a grin, “Me and my buddy Paul about to go hang out,” referring of course to his favorite drink, Paul Masson.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents and several siblings: Mickey Washington, Leroy Washington, Dorothy Granberry, Irene Walker, and Shirley Cary. His memory will continue to be cherished by his daughter, LaKeysia Harrison. He is also survived by two brothers, Richard and Rudy Washington, one sister, Bernice Langston, five grandchildren, Quivon Sartin, Travon Sherred, Robert Smith Jr, Keontay Gary, and Kayden Gary, one great-granddaughter, Moremi, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.

Arrangements and cremation services are entrusted to JP Holley Funeral Home in Columbia, South Carolina. A memorial celebration of Randy’s life will be held in Fremont, Ohio on his birthday in 2026, with details to be shared at a later date. His online tribute page may be visited through JP Holley Funeral Home and Crematory or directly at his memorial site: Online-Tribute for Randall Washington.

The family extends sincere gratitude to Prisma Health Richland Hospital, Chaplain William, and the entire Prisma Health Hospice staff including Erin, Mallory, and Sharon for their exceptional care, compassion, and support during his final chapter.

For those who wish to honor Randy, memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers. Online condolences, photos, and tributes may be shared through JP Holley Funeral Home and Crematory and on his memorial page at Online-Tribute.com/RandallWashington, where his story and spirit will continue to be celebrated.

Randy’s laughter, his stubborn strength, and his unforgettable presence will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. Though his earthly journey has ended, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on forever.
