Rachel Summers Moore

Rachel Summers Moore, 92, of Raleigh, NC passed peacefully December 23, 2022. Rachel was born May 16, 1930, to Esther Godwin Summers and Robert Kittrell Summers in Raleigh, NC, where she stayed until May 2022 when she moved to be with her daughter in South Carolina. Rachel's accomplishments included: President of the Women of the Church Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church, Docent at the NC Museum of Art and as an accomplished watercolor artist, was also a member of The International Society of Artists. Her love and talent in gardening won her many awards for her beautiful flower arrangements at the NC State Fairs. She enjoyed playing bridge and bowling, and her skill helped her bowling team win several tournaments. She also volunteered for meals on wheels for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents Esther Godwin Summers and Robert Kittrell Summers and her husband of 49 years, Thomas Taylor Moore. Rachel is survived by her Daughter Teresa Anne Moore, Grandson Thomas Shane Parker, 3 Great Grandsons, several extended family members, and friends. Because Rachel requested her ashes be scattered at sea, to be with her late husband, no funeral services will be held.
