Quintis Marquis Smith, age 40, of West Haven, CT, passed away on November 24, 2025, doing what he loved — truck driving — in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the son of Cynthia Wilson and the late Edward Smith. Quintis was born in New Haven, CT.
He graduated from West Haven High School. After graduating, he began driving trucks. He developed a love for trucking and continued driving as an owner-operator of Q.M. Smith Transport LLC.
Quintis loved spending time with his son Quintis M. Smith Jr. and also enjoyed time with friends and family. He loved trying new restaurants, customizing cars and trucks, and his love for trucking was unmatched.
He is survived by his ; his son, Quintis M. Smith Jr.; step-daughters, Gianni, Symone; and step-son, Kendall. His mother, Cynthia Wilson; maternal grandmother, Willie Mae; in addition to his mother and paternal grandmother, Dorothy Smith, also survive him. In addition to his children, he is survived by one sister, Moneek Grant; one brother, Matthew Ciufo; Aunts Barbara, Dora, Sandra, Sheila Samuel (Roscoe), Teresa Antrum. Uncles Curtis, Carl, and Jaques. Close cousins, Tia ,Gary Jazmine,Tylon ,Tyrone Reece (Megan); Lionel Samuel, JJ, Josephine, Laker ,Dayshon, Austin,Jocelyn ,Mark, Jewel, twins Curtina & Curtrina, Gail, Britani & Jeff Cureton and a host of nieces, nephews.
Quintis was a loyal , father, and friend. He will truly be missed.
