Oakley Wayne Minnix Jr.

Oakley Wayne Minnix Jr., 34, passed away on January 18, 2025, after a short but difficult battle with cancer. Born in Columbia SC, he was the son of Vicki Taber Minnix of Eastover SC, and the late Oakley Wayne Minnix Sr. Mr. Minnix served his country in the United States Army. After his service he worked in Oklahoma in IT Security. He returned to South Carolina where he was employed locally until he became ill. He enjoyed video games and game streaming in his spare time. He had a love for animals especially his dog Luna. He is survived by his son, Logan Goodman of Michigan; his mother, Vicki Taber Minnix of Eastover SC; his brother, Kevin Simpson of Kentucky; his uncles; Rene A. Taber Jr. of Columbia SC and Clifton Taber of Pelion, SC; and his aunt, DeeDee Kehl and husband Rusty of Florence SC. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Rene and Maxine “Mickey” Taber. A private family and friends gathering will be held at a later date.
