Mary Jane Nedbalek

Mary Jane “Janie” Nedbalek (née Wilson), 100, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed  into the larger life on August 31, 2026.She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin William “Will” Nedbalek; her daughter,  Paula Marie Mumaw; her parents; and her two brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Leslie Ann Nasehi and Jennifer Falvey Wilson; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many loving family and extended-family members. A lifelong teacher, caregiver, sailor, and eager participant in life, Janie co-founded St. Christopher’s Montessori School in Key Biscayne and helped establish the Bostwick Library in Florida. In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated, and her ashes will later be  scattered with Will’s in Miami. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the  Bostwick Library, 125 Tillman Street,   Palatka, FL 32177.
