Mary Laura Johnson Evans, 77, of Gaston, entered into eternal rest on the 22nd day of January 2026 at her residence. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. She was preceded in death by her parents Chester and Katie (Gobbel) Johnson. Survivors are her friend and caregiver, Elizabeth Witham of Gaston; sister, Betty Pearson, brother, David Lee Johnson (Patricia) along with several nieces and nephews.
