Obituary: Mary Frances Goodwin was born April 12, 1952 in Horry County, South Carolina. She was the daughter of John D. Floyd, Sr. and the late Everlina Johnson Bell. On Tuesday, April 11, 2018, with her children and family at her side, she closed her eyes peacefully and entered into eternal rest. She was educated in the public schools of South Carolina, graduating in 1971, from Hopkins High School. She was self-employed as a traveling caregiver and nurse for over thirty (30) years. She enjoyed reading and watching her Pittsburg Steelers. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Charles E. (Ghost) Goodwin for forty (40) years. She was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, mother-in-law, and cousin. She enjoyed spending time and talking to her best friend since fifth grade, Eliza Simmons and with her club, The Rosetta Sumter Tillman, All for One and One for All Club. Mary was preceded in death by: her mother, Everlina Johnson Bell; husband, Charles E. (Ghost) Goodwin; and grandson, Robert D. Parks. Mary Frances Goodwin leaves to cherish her precious memory: her daughters, Bridget D. Floyd, Rolanda M. Goodwin, both of Hopkins, SC, and Peaches (Robert) McEachern, of Columbia, SC; her father, Deacon Herbert Bell Jr.., of Hopkins, SC; two sisters, Mae Lee Gilmore and Johnetta Howell, both of Hopkins, SC; one brother, John D. Floyd, Jr., of Columbia, SC; six grandchildren, Essence, Darius, Deja, Jordan, David, and Robert, III; one great-grandchild, Kennedy; her mother-in-law, Annie Bell Goodwin; sisters-in-law, Shirley Green, Rosetta (Clarence) Sims, Linda Edwards, Eliza (Carnell) Simmons, Brenda Goodwin, Betty (Leroy) Goodwin, Annette Goodwin; brother-in-law, Ronald (Sylvia) Goodwin; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. Services: Funeral services for Mary Frances Goodwin will be held 11:30 a.m., Monday, April 16, 2018 at the St. John Baptist Church, Hopkins, SC, with burial in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the JP Holley Funeral Home, Garners Ferry Road, Chapel.
