Marion "Budie" Isadore O'Neal Iii

Marion “Budie” Isadore O’Neal III, 64, of Hopkins, South Carolina passed away on March 3, 2025 at his home. He was born December 16, 1960 in Sumter, South Carolina.

Budie was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Isadore O’Neal Jr. and Loueen Dare Skaggs as well as his sister, Martha Lynne O’Neal.

He is survived by his children, Colby O’Neal (Tobae) of Columbia, South Carolina and Chandler O’Neal-Hundley (Todd) of Columbia, South Carolina; brothers, Ray O’Neal of Hopkins, South Carolina and Timmy O’Neal (Susan) of Hopkins, South Carolina; grandchildren, Bryce, Emery, and Emmit; and great-granddaughter, Luna. He also left many nieces and nephews.

Budie graduated from Lower Richland High School in 1979. He then worked in the logging business for over 40 years. If you asked him, he would say he was “the number one tree cutter in South Carolina.” In his free time you could often find him down at the river fishing. Budie was a very outgoing man who never met a stranger. He loved being in social settings and lived every day to the absolute fullest.

A Graveside Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held 12PM Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Southland Memorial Gardens (700 W Dunbar Rd W, West Columbia, SC 29170.)  A public visitation will be held from 4-6PM on Monday, March 10, 2025 at JP Holley Southeast Chapel (8132 Garners Ferry Rd Columbia, SC 29209.)
