Obituary: Mrs. Lizzie Mae Barber Marshall was born October 30, 1946 to the late Willis and Alberta Edmond Barber. She departed this life on Friday, April 6, 2018. She attended the public school of Richland County South Carolina and graduated from Hopkins High School in 1965. At an early age, she joined St. John Baptist Church, Hopkins, South Carolina. She was an active member of the Excelsior Missionary Society and the Senior Citizens Ministry until her health began to decline. In the community, she was a member of Women's of Action. In her spare time, she loved to fish and traveled with the Senior Citizens Ministry and Women of Action. She also attended Palmetto Senior Care. Lizzie Mae was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Benjamin Marshall. To this union one loving daughter was born, Mona Lisa Marshall. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Willis and Alberta Edmond Barber; and her husband, Benjamin Marshall. Mrs. Lizzie Mae Barber Marshall leaves to cherish her precious memory: her daughter, Mona Lisa (Michael) Howell; four brothers, Reverend Roosevelt Edmond, Willie J. (Gloria) Barber, Bernard (Mary) Barber, all of Columbia, SC, and Eddie (Evelyn) Barber, of Hopkins, SC; two sisters, Delores (Leroy) Rivers of Hopkins, SC and Stella Davis, of Columbia, SC; a special nephew who grew up in the home, Samuel Barber, of Hopkins, SC; two step-grandchildren, Michael Howell, Jr. and Ebony Alston; two brothers-in-law, Mimi Joe Marshall and Robert L. (Ruth) Marshall, both of Columbia, SC; a host of other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. Services: Funeral services for Lizzie Mae Marshall will be held 12:00 noon, Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the St. John Baptist Church, Hopkins, SC, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the JP Holley Funeral Home, Garners Ferry Road, Chapel.
