Obituary: Mrs. Lillie Mae Myers was born September 27, 1944. She was the loving daughter of the late David Roach, Sr. and Minnie Wright Roach. She departed this earthly life Wednesday, July 11, 2018. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Herman Lee Myers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was known as the "Peace Keeper" of the family. Lillie was an excellent seamstress, she loved children, and to travel. She attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church for fifty plus (50+) years, serving as a youth choir director and Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the choir, usher board, and sexton. Lillie was employed at Capital City, US Textile, Eastover Sewing Factor, Fort Jackson Laundry and retired after twenty-seven (27) years of loyal service from the CIIP. Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by: three sons, Herman, Joel, and John; one granddaughter, Jalesia Myers; two brothers, Willie Wright and David Roach; three sisters, Rebecca Kennedy, Mae Francis Gibson, and Maggie Roach. Leaving to treasure the loving memories of Mrs. Lillie Mae Myers are: her children, Debra (Alfred) Myers-Carraway, of Sumter, SC, Detra Myers, of Hopkins, SC, and Jeffery Myers, of Hopkins, SC; her grandchildren who truly cherished their grandmother, Kayla Myers, of Hopkins, SC, Jessica Roach, of Columbia, SC, Johnathan Myers, of Hopkins, SC, J'Anya Myers, of Hopkins, SC; great-grandchildren, Zariah Jenerette, Lorenzo Anderson, Zomari Anderson, and Ian Samuel; one sister, Minnie (Jackie) Benn; three sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; special niece, Shirley Harris; special nephews, Kenneth Roach, Arnold Benjamin, Alexander Benjamin, and Bernard Benjamin; a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. A special love will always remain in the hearts of the those who truly love her. Services: Funeral services for Lillie Mae Myers will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Temple of Faith Bibleway Church, with burial to follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday beginning at 3:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the JP Holley Funeral Home, Garners Ferry Road Chapel.
