Reverend Leo Marvin Harris was born on July 29, 1958, to the late Deacon Edward Harris and Lottie Mae Benson Harris. He graduated from Lower Richland High School in 1976. After he graduated, he became a certified electrician and a locksmith. He was once employed at Fort Jackson as a supervisor. He later started his long-term career as a truck driver. This career allowed him to visit many exciting places. He shared many exciting stories of the different cities and sites he encountered along the way. Marvin could keep you up for many hours talking about the many adventures he experienced. He remained a truck driver until he retired in 2009. Leo Marvin joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at an early age, where he served faithfully in the usher ministry for many years. He was later called into the ministry under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Blakely N. Scott III. Leo Marvin enjoyed talking, singing old gospel hymns, and bowling. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and two sisters, Doris Jean and Charsetta Harris. Leo Marvin leaves to cherish his memory a brother, Edward J. Harris (Gladys), and a sister, Diane H. Wilson; four nephews, one niece, five great-nephews, one great-niece, and a host of family and friends.
