Kleber Rendon

b. August 1, 1950

Kleber (Clay) Rendon, passed away peacefully at his home in Hopkins, SC on Tuesday November 8th, 2022.

Kleber was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador to Kleber and Alida. Kleber was the eldest of four children.

Kleber was a hard worker and strived to be a generous provider for his family. Obtaining degrees from Universidad Central in Ecuador and Brandeis University in Massachusetts, and was continually striving to learn new things from music and enhancing his professional abilities. Kleber was a devout Catholic, attending Mass weekly.

Kleber had made his career in information technology and security services.  His career led him to working for the Red Sox, his beloved baseball team, to working for the Air Force at Hanscom and Shaw Air Force Bases in Massachusetts and South Carolina.

Kleber met his wife Leonor at work in Ecuador, though it wasn’t until a few decades later that they reconnected their love story. They were married in 1999 and have lived a wonderful life together.  They have traveled the world together and enjoyed the adventure wherever life took them. They made a wonderful home in Hopkins with their two dogs Tito and Luna.

Kleber loved baseball and especially the Red Sox, a pass time and devotion he passed down to his son Nick.  There was seldom a day that Kleber wasn’t sporting something Red Sox or New England sports related.

Kleber leaves behind his beloved wife, Leonor. Kleber is also survived by his son Nick, step daughters and their spouses Maria and Anthony, and Cinthia and Fernado, as well as his siblings Jose, Angela, and Miguel. And his grandchildren David, Mia, Liana, Emma, and Sofia, and his great granddaughter Ava. Kleber leaves behind many beloved family, friends, and coworkers.

A small memorial will be held at JP Holley Funeral Home and Crematory on Garners Ferry Road in Columbia, SC on November 11th, 2022 from 3-5 pm with a future Mass service at St. Michael’s Parish in North Andover, Massachusetts on November 19th, 2022 at 10 am, before his final internment in Ecuador.

Kleber is forever in our hearts and prayers.
