Kenasia Lanae Martin (22), a rising Junior at NC A&T State University, died on August 7, 2024 of gunshot wounds as a result of a domestic dispute.
Kenasia was to begin working towards a BS in Social Work on August 17, 2024 before this untimely tragedy occurred. Kenasia graduated in May 2024 with an Associates in Arts Degree while also serving as a college Ambassador for Southeastern Community College. Kenasia worked on campus in the continuing education department and was also a substitute teacher for Columbus County Schools.
Kenasia is survived by: Miranda Martin (mother), Latavia Bellamy (sister), Kaden Martin (brother) of Greensboro NC, Kevin Frink (father) and Tahari Logan (sister) of Newport News, VA. She also leaves behind her maternal grandmother, paternal grandparents and host of aunts, uncles, cousins, her nephew Kaleb Bellamy (11 months) and her God daughter, Ivy (6) across the NC and Va area.
Kenasia was raised in Greensboro NC and completed most of her early learning in Guilford County Schools. She graduated high school in 2020 in Cumberland County. Kenasia had dreams. Kenasia worked hard and loved even harder. Although Kenasia will never have the opportunity to walk across another stage, start her own family, or serve anymore communities, her passion and desire for others to be loved and supported will live on through the family that loved her unconditionally and infectiously.
