Obituary: Katherine Hudson was born on February 29, 1920 in Richland County, Hopkins, SC. She was the daughter of the late Julius and Oneida Montgomery. Katherine entered into rest on October 19, 2017 in Columbia, S.C. Katherine was educated in the public schools of Richland County. At an early age Katherine joined Siloam Baptist Church. For 25 years she worked as a domestic worker for Mrs. Mack while raising Romero and Robert. Later Katherine moved to Cincinnati were she married the late George Hudson. In Cincinnati she joined and attended El Bethel Baptist Church where Reverend John E. McMullen was pastor. While living in Cincinnati, Katherine lived a wonderful life. She was employed by Dr. Taylor Asbury for many years doing domestic work and raising his children, retiring from his employment in 1991. Katherine and her late sister Frances Lucille Waller were known to those of us in Cincinnati as the "Dynamic Duo". These were two sisters that truly had each other's back. Although she never had children of her own she was a mother and grandmother to many. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, five brothers and son Romeo Montgomery. Katherine leaves to cherish her memory Robert Montgomery who she raised as her son, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a niece Mary Alice Shiver reared in the home. A host of nieces, nephews, family and friends to mourn her passing. Services: Funeral Service for Mrs. Katherine Hudson will be held 12pm on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Siloam Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hudson will be placed in the church one hour prior to service for public viewing. Visitation will be Friday, 4 to 8pm at the JP Holley Funeral Home Columbia Chapel.
