Joyce Gale Chaney

In loving memory of Joyce Gale Chaney June 10, 1946 - September 26, 2023 Joyce "Gale" Chaney, a resident of West Columbia, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday morning, September 26, 2023, at the age of 78. She was born to the late Colie and Nellie Elders on June 10, 1946. Gale leaves behind a legacy of love and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her son, (Guy Chaney), her siblings (Faye Fentress and Dale Cooper.) She was preceded in death by her grandson (Dustin Chaney), beloved husband, (Gary Chaney) and brother (Pete Elders) Gale also leaves behind her loyal fur companion, Giz, and her dear friend, Tonya Sturkie. Her love also extended to many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever hold tight to the precious the time spent with her. Gale retired from Flextron (formerly NCR) Her greatest source of pride was her son, Guy Chaney, who brought immeasurable joy to her life, and her grandson, Dustin Chaney, with whom she is now reunited with In heaven. She always had a fond memory to share whether it was spending time with her son, riding Harley's with her grandson, or traveling across the country with Tonya to a beauty pageant. Gale found immense joy in spending time with those that she loved and her happiness  was always contagious. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Gale Chaney will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 12:30 PM at Souls Harbor Full Gospel Church, located at 926 Williams St, West Columbia, SC. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
