Obituary: Mr. Joseph Smith Sr., 65, of 118 Lillie Rosa Circle was born December 5, 1952 in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the Oldest son of Jessie and Mary Jane Smith. He Departed this life on February 16, 2018. Joseph, affectionally known as "Joe," was a graduate of Hopkins High School Class of 1970. He was employed by Orders & Tiles and before retiring, he worked for Smith Timber, Inc. Joe was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His favorite pastimes were playing baseball and cutting grass. Mr. Smith leaves precious memories to be cherished by a daughter, LaToria (Edward) Williams of Columbia, South Carolina; three sons, Joseph Smith Jr. of Columbia, South Carolina, Eric (Andrea) Williams of Gadsden, South Carolina, and DeAngelo Williams of Columbia, South Carolina; his parents, Jessie (Mary Jane) Smith of Hopkins, South Carolina; two brothers, Bruce Smith and Pastor Anthony (Pastor Ethel) Smith of Gadsden, South Carolina; honorary sister, Robertee Robinson of Hopkins, South Carolina; four grandsons, Omarion, Edward Jr., Paul, and Kevin; four granddaughters, Mariah, Morgan, Sacoria, and Satoria; two special aunts, Doris J. Sumter and Shirley A. Thompson both of Hopkins, South Carolina; seven uncles, four aunts, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom that will miss him dearly. Services: Funeral services for Mr. Joseph "Joe" Smith will be held 12:00 noon Thursday, February 22 at Zion Benevolent Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Gates of Heaven cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 2:00-8:00pm at JP Holley Funeral Home.
