Obituary: Mr. Johnny Roosevelt Moody was born July 27, 1946 in Hopkins, South Carolina. He was the son of the Glennmore Moody and Willie Mae McMillian Adams. On Tuesday, May 29, 2018, Johnny was called into eternal rest. He attended the public schools of Richland County School District One. He was a part of the Hopkins High School, Class of 1965. At an early age he was baptized and became a member of Red Hill Baptist Church. Johnny was preceded in death by: his parents; and four brothers, James L. Moody, Willie B. Moody, Albert Moody, and Glenn Moody. Though the presence of one so dear and loving is no more, many memories will be left and cherished by: his loving wife, Mary Burden Moody; four sisters, Rosetta Eaddy, Lillie Ann Montgomery, Sarah Taylor, and Deloris Frieson, all of Hopkins, SC; four brothers-in-law, Henry Frieson, Willie Burden, Marvin Robinson, and Vincent Robinson; five sisters-in-law, Lottie Burden-Moore, Eliza Middleton, Jackie Robinson, Karen Robinson, and Loraine Robinson; two god-sons, Reverend Kendrick (Yolanda) Roach, Sr. and Christon Adams; two devoted caregivers, Michelle Sumter and Johnny Burden; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. Services: Funeral services for Johnny Roosevelt Moody will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Zion Damascus Baptist Church #2 with burial to follow in the Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday afternoon beginning at 3:00 p.m. the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the JP Holley Funeral Home, Garners Ferry Road Chapel.
