John R. VonderLeith Jr. went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ, on Friday, MAY 30, 2025 at the age of 74,
born in Charleston S.C. He was the oldest son of John R. VonderLeith Sr. and Dorothy Priester VonderLeith.
He graduated from Saint Andrews Parish High School Charleston S.C. with Honors and also the College of Charleston with
a Masters Degree in Mathematics. John worked as a Nuclear Electrician at The Charlelston Naval Shipyard, until its forced
closing. Following with Teaching at a High School in Columbia, S.C. Also Tutoring Cadets in Advanced Calculus at
the Citidal Military College in Charleston S.C. John was an Extraordinary Artist. He was a Michael Angelo in his own right,
aiding in the Restoration of Ornate Ceilings, in various downtown Charleston Historic Homes. He was a Master of
Diverse Styles of Art. We proudly enjoy displaying his art work in our homes, as did several of the old Pubs downtown Charleston S.C. He was a
His hobbies were playing Chess
and Poker. He achieved Master Status of Chess Board. He was preceeded in death by his parents, two sisters and their
Spouces, Joan Linda Caraway (Robert), Elizabeth Louise Parish (John). Surviving siblings are Carole V. Taylor
(Rick), Kay F. Josey and Michael A. VonderLeith (Linda). As well as numerous Nieces and Nephews. Heartfelt
appreciation to the staff of Calhoun Convalescent Center, St. Mathews, S.C. and Magnolias of Eutawville,
Eutawville, S.C.
