John Henry Seymour

Obituary: John Henry Seymour was born August 24, 1935 in Richland County, South Carolina. He was the sixth of six children born to the late Robert and Rosa S. Seymour. He departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 14, 2018. John was reared in a loving christian home. As a young child he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Gadsden, South Carolina. He was described as a "gentle giant" with a big heart. He received his early education in the Richland County, School System and attended Webber High School in Eastover, South Carolina. He was ambitious and hardworking with his entrepreneurial skills as a butcher and cook. He owned his own restaurant and retired from BI-LO grocery store after many years of service. John was preceded in death by: his parents and two siblings, Robert Seymour, Jr. and Helen Ruth-Clark. John Henry Seymour is survived by: his wife of twenty (20) years, Millie B. Seymour; Daughters; Sons;three sisters, Earlene Walker, Rozance Nelson, and Ollie (James) Anderson, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. Services: Funeral Services for Mr. John Henry Seymour will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2018 at Gunters Chapel Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00-8:00 p.m. at the JP Holley Funeral Home Columbia Chapel.
