John Nathan Rose

Obituary: John Nathan Rose, 84, was born July 18, 1933 in Sumter, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Wigfall "New" Rose and Wilhelmena Washington Rose. He entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at his home. He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County, South Carolina. He was employed at Southern Coatings, Inc. for thirty-nine (39) years and was a lifelong member of the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. On October 20, 1956, John was united in Holy Matrimony to Wilhelmena Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: two children, Betty Jean Rose and Eugene Rose; one sister, Cora Lee Farmer; and six brothers, Wigfall Rose, Jr., Abraham Rose, Herbert Rose, Blease Leneau, Willis Washington, and James Washington. John's precious memories will be forever cherished by: his wife of sixty-one (61) years, Wilhelmena J. Rose; five daughters, Loretta (Cleveland) Horace, Sally A. Rose, Gladys (Terry) McCray, Melinda (Byron) White, all of Sumter, SC, and Rethea (Jerry) Hall , of Columbia, SC; two sons, Morris Ford, of Sumter, SC and John E. Rose, of Middle River, MD; twenty-seven (27) grandchildren; forty-four (44) great-grandchildren; one (1) great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Susie Lee Bracey and Alice Bracey, both of Sumter, SC; two brothers, Thomas Washington and Isaiah Leneau; five sisters-in-law, Nancy Rose, Gardenia Willis, Sarah Rheames, Lessie Dumas, Mary Washington Burch; one brother-in-law, Issac Farmer; one special nephew, Anthony Bracey; two special nieces, Eloise Bracey and Janice Leneau; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. Services: Sumter, SC-Funeral services for John Nathan Rose, who died June 7, 2018 will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 12:00 noon at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Sumter, SC with burial in the Evergreen Memorial Park, Sumter, SC. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Builders Deliverance Ministries, Sumter, SC
