John Wesley Hayes Jr.

John Wesley Hayes Jr (Cotton), 63 of Pelion, SC entered the gates of heaven on December 2, 2021. His passions in life were his family, drag racing and his work. He worked as a carpenter for most of his life and he always took pride in everything he did. He enjoyed drag racing on weekends, especially when his family was cheering him on and acting as his pit crew. He is survived by his daughter Christy “Brandi” Harmon (Chance), his son CJ Hayes (Nansi), step daughter Crystal Clontz (Bronson), sisters Susan Page and Sylvia Collins, grandchildren Greta Wise (Ben) and Dylan Wise, great granddaughter Elizabeth Hancock as well as several niece, nephews, cousins and extended family members. He is predeceased by brother Jimmy Ray Wilson, sisters Linda Wright and Lori Ann Hayes and grandson Garet Wise. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-5 pm on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Mack Edisto Community Center, located at 944 Mack Edisto Rd Swansea, SC 29160.
