Janice Dale Ledbetter

Janice Dale Ledbetter, 71, of Etowah Horseshoe, North Carolina, passed away on May 14,2025.

Janice was a beloved part of her community, known for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her warmth and quiet grace touched all who knew her, and her memory will continue to live on through those she held dear. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Frank Shipman and Edgar Gilland; her husband, Frankie Ledbetter; her sister, Tina Gilland; and her lifelong friend since middle school, Rita Neal. Janice is survived by her sons, Jeff Galloway (Jamie) ,and Nick Ledbetter; her grandsons: Kaden, Korbin, and Keegan Galloway; granddaughters, Kaelynn and Sarah Ledbetter; a brother, Frank Gilland (Julie); and great-niece, Courtney Gonzales. She also leaves behind many other loving family members and friends who will miss her deeply. Janice worked at K-Mart in the Blue Ridge Mall for 30 years, where she was a familiar and friendly face to countless customers.  Alongside her husband Frankie, she also co-owned and operated Ledbetter Stone in Hendersonville, NC — a proud part of their shared life’s work.

A service to honor and celebrate Janice’s life will be June 21, 2025 at Mills River Baptist Church from 12pm-2pm.
