Janet Brabham

July 13, 1960 — March 6, 2026

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Janet Brabham, 65, on  March 2, 2026. Janet was born in Charleston in 1959 to Nancy Lucille   Brabham(Skaggs)  and Quintus Manning Brabham. Her intellect was apparent at an early age. She  graduated from Hanahan High School at the age of 16. After attending the University of  South Carolina, Janet found her calling in construction and remodeling. She started  and  managed her own construction business for forty  years.

Janet was an outstanding  gardener, known for generously sharing the fruits of her harvests with others. She was  also  an amazing cook , whose Eggs Benedict was beloved far and wide. Janet's love  language was cooking; she made sure no one ever left her presence hungry or feeling  unloved.

She encouraged everyone to try new recipes and new types of foods. Janet's passion for helping others was shared with family, friends, clients (many of whom  became friends), and even those she had never met. Her booming laugh was  contagious, and her ability to focus on each person, as if they were the most  important person in the world, will be cherished forever .  Janet was predeceased in death by her loving parents. She leaves behind her loving  partner  of thirty-four years, Lori Brown; their son, Max Brabham; her sister, Sharon  Schwarz(Andrew) and their sons Drew and Matthew; and her brother Lamar  Brabham(Beth) and their son, Scott.

A memorial service will be held on  April 25 2026, at Trustus Theatre starting at 2:00 PM. To honor Janet's love of feeding  others, the  family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the University of South  Carolina's Gamecock CommUnity Shop, a campus store that provides food,  clothing, and supplies to students, faculty, and staff in need in the USC community.
