James O Thomas

Mr. James Oliver Thomas was born in Americus, Georgia, on February 5, 1959, to the parents of the late Ms. Olivia Thomas and the late Mr. Clyde Davis. He lived in Columbia, S.C. for 28 years. With true talents working with his hands, he was a  "Jack of all trades"  and a  masonry landscaper, carpenter, painter, etc. He worked for Charlie Thorton Road Construction Company (Columbia, S.C.), Self-Employed Landscaping Service, and Evergreen Landscaping/Construction (Columbia, S.C.). If he wasn't working, you could find him fishing. He is preceded in death by his sister, Ms. Sharon Thomas, and a nephew, Kedrick Williams. Left to carry on his legacy are his children, daughters Yashika Dorsey, Americus, Ga., Ashley Thomas, Americus, Ga., Camellia Thomas, Americus, Ga., and Chelsea Thomas, Richland, Ga.; and sons Phillip Thomas, Warner Robins, Ga. and Oliver Thomas, Columbia, S. C. He is dearly loved by his grandchildren, Brandon E. Pope Jr., Ashton D. Johnson, Eriunah K. Hardy, Jonathan Smith, Haleigh Rivers, and Nayceon Rivers. Left to cherish his memory of love are his beloved siblings. Two brothers, Mr. Andrew (Idella) Thomas, Columbia, S.C. and Mr. Alexander (Verna) Thomas, Americus, Ga.; seven sisters, Ms. Debbie T. Tyson, Columbus, Ga., Mrs. Patricia (James) Davis, Brunswick, GA, Ms. Helen T. Golphin, Americus, Ga., Ms. Wanda B. Thomas, Riverdale, Ga., Mrs. Rebecca (Brian) Terry, Americus, Ga., Ms. Shirley Thomas, Macon, Ga., and Ms. Theresa Davis, Plains, Ga. He is deeply cherished by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a great-great niece. Special recognition and appreciation to his brother and sister-in-law Andrew (Idella) Thomas; cousin Joe Allen; his friends Sharon Tookes, Vernice Williams, Debra Bar, and Andrea Duncan; and niece Meghann Hill.
