Obituary: James E. Franklin (HoneyBun) was born August 8th in Bishopville S.C. to Minnie Franklin and the late Covington Franklin of Bishopville, SC. He graduated with the class of 1976 from Bishopville High School. He devoted his life to serving in the United States Army where he was a radio teletype operator in North Korea. After his military years Mr. Franklin held many jobs. He worked at Springs in Lancaster, SC, and Commlandon Construction along two of his good friends Doc Mack and Chip Peterson. Mr. Franklin went home to be with the lord on August 24, 2016. He precede in death his father Covington Franklin and his brother Larry Franklin. Mr. Franklin will truly be missed by all whom knew him and the Harlem community. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother Minnie Franklin and companion of 13 years Miss Genia Anthony.Siblings Rufus E. (E) King of Seattle Washington, Rosa Mae King of New York, Mary King of Mayesville SC, Eddie Franklin, Sam Franklin, Debra (Willie) Bradley, Minnie (Levern) Slater all of Bishopville SC and Bessie Wilson of Charlotte, NC. Two good friends Alexander Codell Boyd of Bishopville, SC, and Stimmie known as Time of Charlotte, NC. A host of nieces and nephews. One special nephew that was like a son to him Keno Slater. The family of James Edward Franklin would like to extend a sincere appreciation for all the love, support, calls, visits, text, and numerous kind gestures during their time of bereavement. Services: Service for Mr. James E "Honey Bun" Franklin, will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church (Bishopville SC) Internment will follow in the Barnttesville cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.
