Rev. Herbert Glisson

Obituary: Those left to cherish his fond memories are his wife; Ruby J. Glisson, sons; Alec R. Glisson, Mario M. Glisson, Brian L. Glisson; daughter; Avis E. Glisson, mother, Luefenia Montgomery Glisson; sisters; Mary (Frank) Sanders, Lue Richardson, Janet(Johnny)Williams, Ivory Mitchell, Estell (Emmanuel) Moore, Sarah (Lawrence) Small, a honorary brother; Leroy (Rev. Dr. Mary) Glisson; along with a host of loving relatives and friends all of whom will miss him dearly. Services: Funeral Service for Rev. Herbert Lee Glisson Jr. will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at Progressive Believers Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery at a later date. Mr. Glisson will be placed in the church one hour prior for public viewing. Visitation will be held Friday from 3 to 8pm, and the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm at JP Holley Funeral Home Columbia Chapel.
