Harvey Simpson Capell Jr, born August 8, 1931 in Tallassee, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 27, 2020. After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, he returned to Columbia, SC where he obtained a degree in electrical engineering from the University of South Carolina and went on to build a successful engineering firm. He was a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church in Lexington, SC. He loved golfing, fishing, cheering on his Gamecocks and spending time with family. He is preceded in death by his parents Harvey Simpson Capell, Sr. and Sarah Jones Capell and his daughter, Teresa Johnson. He is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate of 38 years, Dora Capell. Also surviving are his sons, Lee Capell and wife Gail, of Prosperity, SC, and Michael Capell and wife Penny, of Bristol, VA; his daughters Lisette Easterling and husband Adam, of Simpsonville, SC, and Claudia Hooker and husband Craig of Indian Land, SC; grandchildren Jennifer Marsee and husband Mark, Will Capell, Kitt Capell and wife Alexis, Audrey Capell, Maggie Capell, Ella Jane Jones, Luke Jones, Mary Margaret Easterling, Banks Easterling, Russell Easterling, Alianna Hooker and Garrison Hooker; great-grandchildren Scout Purvis, Tinsley Purvis and Landon Purvis; two brothers, Lee Capell and wife Christina of Winston-Salem, NC and Jack Capell of Midlothian, TX along with many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be in the spring of 2021 .
