Freda L. Hicks answered the call of her Lord Jesus on December 18, 2020, at age 84. She was born to George and Myrtle Dixon on August 28, 1936, in Flinton, PA. She grew up on a farm with a large family that included seven brothers and three sisters.  Freda met her husband, William C. "Bill" Hicks, Sr. in Niagara Falls, NY. They married in 1960 and went on to have one son, Dennis L. Hicks. Her husband had one son, William C. "Bucky" Hicks, Jr., from a previous marriage. In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Freda held an unwavering faith in God and truly loved the Lord, which she would share with those who spoke with her. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and siblings Boyd, Gerald "Bus," Elinor "Sis," Eugene, Richard, Melvin, and Susannah.

Surviving family members are her son, Dennis (Jean) and a stepson William C. "Bucky" Hicks, Jr.; her siblings Harold Dixon, George "Geordie" Dixon and Sharon Robertson, three grandchildren, David Hicks, Jamie (Hicks) Jones and Tiffany (Hicks) Motley, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to sincerely thank the caring staff at Opus Post Acute Rehabilitation. Freda loved and appreciated your dedication and care.  We would also like to thank the staff of Hospice Care of SC who cared for her and kept us informed during this challenging time due to COVID restrictions. Thank you, Tonya Sheppard. There will not be a formal ceremony due to COVID restrictions and friends and family's wide proximity. Freda is doing very well in the eternal presence of her Lord and loved ones who made the journey before her. Rejoice in the fact that she has a new body that will never fail her or cause her pain. According to her wishes, Freda will be cremated and her ashes spread at a later date in a private moment.
