Obituary: Ms. Ernie Elaine Lebby Foster was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest (Mamie Hartzog) Lebby on July 18, 1947, in Denmark, South Carolina. She attended the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina and graduated from C.A. Johnson High School in 1966. After graduation, she went on to receive her degree in Horticulture from Midlands Technical College. She loved flowers and used that love to create bright spaces and bring joy to the hearts of others. After being a homemaker and rearing her children, her nurturing spirit lead her to become a home health care worker for Babcock Center. In 1967, Ernie met and married Barron O'Neal Foster, Sr. and to this union three children were born. Together, she and her husband raised their children in a loving environment. She was a dutiful homemaker and enjoyed shopping and traveling with her family. She especially loved making, not only her children, but all children happy. She was REALLY known for giving fun and elaborate parties for friends and family. A smile comes to the faces of all who recall her creative festivities. Ms. Foster was a lifelong member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, under the spiritual leadership of both Reverend Dr. J. Arthur Holmes, Senior and Reverend Dr. Ronnie E. Brailsford, Senior. While there, she was member of the Usher's ministry. She was later baptized and regularly attended Siloam Baptist Church in Hopkins, South Carolina under the leadership of Pastor David Montgomery.. Ernie was predeceased by her parents, her former husband Barron O. Foster, Sr., her sisters, Roslyn Johnson and Lois Few, and her brother Carl E. Lebby. Ernie Elaine Lebby Foster is survived by two daughters Wanda F. Robinson andIndia Foster, both of Columbia, South Carolina; a daughter of the heart, Yakesha Means, of Union, South Carolina; Dr. Barron O'Neal Foster, Jr., of Columbia, South Carolina; two sisters, Paula C. Lebby of Columbia, South Carolina and VernieLebby Harney of Allendale, South Carolina; one brother, George W. Lebby of Columbia, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Darrell, Ashley, Tavaris, John,Desiree, Linda and Skylar; three great grandchildren, Quiyona, Kyree and Keyshaun; three aunts, Kathleen Faust, Eddie Mae Lebby and Glenna Mae Lebby; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends who will always cherish her memories. Services: Funeral services for Ernie Elaine Foster will be held Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Zion Mill Creek Baptist Church with Entombment to follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the JP Holley Funeral Home Chapel.
